About Me

I am a North Carolina native who has spent time in the northeast while my brother pursued a career in music. As a result, I was able to spend quite a bit of time exploring places like the American Museum of Natural History and Dinosaur State Park. These early experiences helped foster my love for science.

Today, I have an M.S. in Environmental Science and Policy, and have studied conservation policy alongside community-based conservation in places like Madagascar. I have a B.S. in Environment & Sustainability from Catawba College with concentrations in Natural Resource Management and Sustainable Planning & Leadership, in addition to a minor in Politics. Even during my undergraduate experience, I was actively involved in community service and sustainable project planning.
I have worked as an environmental restoration contractor and now do community outreach for a large university, focusing on topics like drones in sustainability and environmental science. I believe that you must be willing to understand other people and their cultures in order to make a difference with conservation and other issues. In Summer 2019, I had the opportunity to attend an amazing study abroad experience in Madagascar, where I ran my own research project surveying local community members who were living within the boundaries of a national park.

My hobbies include photography, crochet, hiking, reading, gardening, and more.

I hope to continue to make a difference in the local community through volunteer work and environmental education events, in addition to sharing stories via photography.
